"After trying to find somebody in the United States to do any Emm repair on my E-Tec which I was not able to find I reached out to Glenn with Hardware care and he was very helpful he helped me troubleshoot a few things to make sure the Emm was bad before sending it in. He also took care of all the shipping carriers. He was a piece of cake to work with and he had a back in a very quick time. I highly recommend these guys they do great work"

"The only place I found in the world that would touch my evinrude etec emm. I was nervous shipping it off from the US to the Netherlands, but I had no other choice. 5 star service! Well worth the money to get my boat back running, excellent communication from them, repaired right the 1st time. Highly recommend if you're like me with a dead etec emm!"

"What a refreshing experience. I would highly recommend using this EMM repair service. They were able to fix and safely return 2 EMM units from quicker than any service in Australia. Just plugged it in and it is like new. I now have a spare reconditioned EMM. Thanks to Sam and the rest of the Outboard/ Hardware Care team."

My Evinrude Etec 50hp failed completely and the issue was traced to a failure of the engine management system (EMM) which is both complex and expensive to repair or replace. A couple of acquaintances who had first hand experience of such failures recommended Hardware Care in the Netherlands as perhaps the world's leading authority for Evinrude EMM diagnostics and repair. After a brief email exchange with Sam pick up via DPD was arranged by them, I would thoroughly recommend letting them organise both collection and return which is both very efficient and cost effective particularly post Brexit when import / export can be an issue. The lead in time for repairs is a few weeks given they are very busy and there was a hiccup in this process because it was found that my EMM was damaged beyond repair with the route cause unknown. Apparently this is something of a rarity and to be honest Hardware Care's automated email responses were somewhat lacking in scenarios such as this. However when mistakes occur the sign of a good company is how they respond and on the back of my issues they produced a detailed plan on how they were going to overhaul their responses in such instances... very impressive. They were as good as their word and having sent them the relevant .edf file and a previous service diagnostics report (if at all possible make sure you have this data, it will save time and additional cost!) they reprogrammed a reconditioned unit and returned it in a timely fashion. To cut to the quick we installed the reconditioned EMM and to our delight the Etec started first time with no sign of the issues encountered when it failed. Hardware Care also added an Etec Service Diagnostics cable to enable me to download the relevant file and connect the three Etec's I own to my laptop by way of an apology and a thank you. All in all I would thoroughly recommend Hardware Care who provide a friendly professional guaranteed service with my outboard fixed at a significant saving over a new EMM if indeed you can get hold of one. To Sam and the team thank you.

2008 Evinrude E-Tec 60hp: All the EMM repair shops in the U.S. said this "EMM could not be repaired and that my engine is trash". I reached out to Hardware Care; they stepped me through their process and I'm sure glad I did. Customer service and communication was super, short turn around and when I received the unit back, I plugged it in, and it runs like a new machine. Highly recommend, Thank You Hardware Care !!!

The repair service is much easier, less expensive, and quicker than I'd expected. Our 2017 Evinrude Etec 40 hp motor's EMM went out from California to the Netherlands 12/28/23 and returned 1/31/23. Total cost including shipping was under $700. Installing the repaired EMM is much easier than installing a used EMM and matched injectors, which we did previously for expediency, and less than 2/3 the cost. The service is very professional and very attentive to detail. They did a really neat job on the repair and the EMM seems to be functioning as well as it did when the engine was new, with all the injector coefficients and history that it had before the repair. They were very kind to answer questions about whether we could damage the EMM by coil shorting (not likely). The motor's EMM is unfortunately a major Achilles heel for it, and it's good to know that it can be repaired fairly easily, at a reasonable cost, and without months of downtime. It may seem a hassle to ship to the Netherlands, but it sure beats being talked into a new motor, which is a likely outcome since the maker is no longer supporting the motor.

Because of the difference in time, some communications from me got there when they were asleep! None the less they responded to each of my many questions over the last 4 Months. The time was extended understandably due to the holidays and other technical issues. Once the decision was made to de-vulcanize the unit, it was tested, diagnosed, repaired, re-vulcanized, and shipped all within a matter of days. Even though the weather here in Tampa Bay was miserable on the Friday I took delivery of the unit, I couldn't wait for daylight to come so I could race to the marina to reinstall the unit. I secured the unit, turned the key and she started instantly. The unit didn't throw the code 19 low voltage code for my 2007 250 ETEC 640 hours. I let the engine run for 15-20 minutes and the never did the engine in question go out of spec. Great service, great communication, great work and great pricing when compared to the on-shore services. I clearly to was bit skeptical about sending my unit to the Netherlands. Would I ever see it again, will it be lost to the black market ether? Trust me, if you are having issues w your EMM and don't want to drop $2K + on a new unit, connect with Hardware Care 1st. You will be satisfied. Well worth the wait!Cast. Kevin Bray

I just mounted my EMM and tested the engine on site: everything seems to be back in order. Unfortunately I have to wait a few months for the sea trial.I am very satisfied and happy to have known Hardware Care. They proved to be serious and punctual even if the repair times were not very quick. I am sure that my experience will be very useful to other friends who own ETEC to whom I have given all the references for any future needs.

I was very pleased when i found out that it was possible to let my ECU fixed for a third of the cost of a new one, and also in the Netherlands, were i live. When you send your ECU in they send you updates about the progress but expect 6 to 8 weeks.I have nt installed mine yet but it looks great and as soon i have some time and good weather i will.

Customer service was great throughout the entire process. A bit of a wait for the repair but understandable because of the location (US to Netherlands and back). Once the repaired EMM arrived I sent it to my outboard mechanic and he verified it was working properly. Thank you Hardware Care.

Repair time was exactly as they predicted. Shipping there and back was super easy as they arranged the pickup from my office in Florida. Once returned I installed the repaired EMM and my boat fired right up with no issues. Took it for about a 10 mile run and it ran great. I’m glad I found this place to get my EMM repaired as pretty much everyone in the U.S. told me I was out of luck and just needed to scrap my motor. Thank you again for offering such a needed service.

This was the only place I could find to work on my dead etec EMM. These guys took care of shipping to and from the Netherlands, repaired in a very short period of time and worked right out of the box. I am totally impressed by their service I'd give them 10 stars if that was the option!!

The repairs are top notch and the warranty support is superb. I had two EMM's repaired for my 2000 225 hp Ficht, one I kept and used for my personal motor. It works better than new. The other I sold to a third party and the staff helped resolve reprogramming the EMM for the buyer to match the motor he purchased it for, above and beyond the required service!

Found Hardware Care online as there is nobody offering anything like this service here in the UK. They organised a courier and customs clearance and the whole thing was just super easy. Took a bit longer than expected but that could well have been because of the time of year (Christmas). Once the repair was completed I paid the bill and my EMM was on its way back. Make sure you keep a copy of your paperwork because the customs clearance department of DHL lost track of the details of my parcel, but once I forwarded them the original documents, then everything was cleared through customs and back on track.Received EMM the next day and plugged it in to find it worked perfectly. The only thing that Hardware Care could possibly do to make their service even better, would be to maybe include a few details about the hours run etc in a printout. This would be a useful addition ?.Very happy with Hardware Care and would have no problem recommending them 110%* * * * * * * *Just wanted to do a quick update as I feel its really important. The day I added my feedback, I was emailed by Hardware Care. They told me that they already had plans to do as I had suggested, regarding the data printout, and that if they sorted their system in time, I may be lucky and they would still have my data. Well guess what!? I WAS lucky and recieved an entire engine diagnostic printout within a couple of days!! AMAZING!! This has made my (already brilliant) Hardware Care experience unbeatable.

My Evinrude 40HP was blowing its fuse, narrowed down to the EMM. Their web site had all the right options, with one for blown fuse, which was encouraging. I chose to have them organise shipping, as it is fraught with issues (US product from UK to NL for repair), so they did all the right paperwork and courier collection. They say a couple of months and that was how long it took! Their price as was good, but the courier costs and VAT did push it up alot. They responded to emails - my UK bank was very suspicious of a NL payment and would not process the first attempt, so we had to start again.Very pleased to deal with them.

After one of the well known Emm repair companies in the USA mistakenly installed the wrong software on my emm, Glenn at Hardware care was on hand to help. Very friendly and efficient service. Unlike the other companies I tried, Glenn always answered the phone and replied to emails. Many thanks to Hardware care for getting my boat back up and running.

Hardware care is the way to go for evinrude etec motors. Sent my emm to them because it was blowing the 10 amp main fuse in motor. Got it back in a timely manner and works as should. Very happy with my experience.
