Same block, different label
Evinrude built their E-TEC engines around a small number of shared engine blocks. A 75 HP and a 90 HP can share the exact same hardware. The factory simply programmed the EMM differently before it left the production line.
That means if you have a 75 HP engine on a block that was also used for the 90 HP variant, the hardware is already there. The EMM is the only thing limiting it. We verify your part number is on a shared block and reflash it to the higher HP version.
The result is the rated output of the higher model, using your existing engine, your existing wiring, your existing installation. No new parts, no engine work.

Is EMM tuning legal?
The reflash sets your EMM to a higher power rating that the exact same engine block already runs from the factory in the higher-HP model. It is a software change to your own engine and we remove no emissions hardware. Rules on modifying a registered engine differ by country, so check what applies where you use the boat.
Will it void my warranty?
Most E-TEC engines are already out of the manufacturer warranty — Evinrude/BRP ended production in 2020. If yours is still covered, any software change can affect that coverage, so weigh it up first. Everything we flash is done to the correct factory specification for the higher model.
Is it safe for the engine?
Yes. We only reflash to a rating the identical block already runs in the higher-HP variant, so the hardware is built for it. Where the higher model needs a different part — such as the thermostatic water valve on some 60 HP conversions — we tell you up front and supply the correct part.
What if my engine does not qualify?
Then we tell you before you commit to anything — no reflash and no charge. Not every part number sits on a shared block, which is exactly why we check yours first.
How long does it take?
A remote session is a single appointment, usually under an hour. A mailed-in EMM is typically reflashed and back in the post within about three days of arriving.
Do I have to ship my EMM?
No. With the remote option your EMM never leaves the boat — you connect a diagnostic and bootstrap cable to a Windows laptop at the dock and we reflash it live. Prefer to post it? The mail-in service works worldwide by DHL Express.
