Your
75 HP is a
90 HP in disguise
Evinrude used the same engine block across multiple horsepower ratings. The only difference is the programming of the EMM. We reflash it to the higher HP version your hardware already supports, remotely and live at your own dock, so nothing has to ship.
- No hardware modifications, software only
- Done remotely at your dock, nothing to ship
- Most tunes done live in a single session
Two ways to get it done
We tune your EMM remotely and live, right at your boat, so it never leaves the dock. Rather send it in instead? Mail-in works worldwide too, the same upgrade at the same fixed price.
Remote
Tune it without shipping
Stay at the dock with a laptop and a diagnostic cable. We reflash your EMM live in one session — it never leaves the boat.

Send us your EMM
Remove the EMM and ship it to us. We reflash it and send it back by DHL Express, worldwide.
Check eligibilityWill my engine qualify?
Enter your EMM part number (on the EMM label) and we'll show you what it can be tuned to.
Final eligibility is always confirmed against your specific part number before anything is booked.
Same block, different label
Evinrude built their E-TEC engines around a small number of shared engine blocks. A 75 HP and a 90 HP can share the exact same hardware. The difference is in how the factory programmed the EMM before the engine left the production line.
That means if you have a 75 HP engine on a block that was also used for the 90 HP variant, the hardware is already there. The EMM is the only thing limiting it. We verify your part number is on a shared block and reflash it to the higher HP version.
You get the rated output of the higher model from the engine, wiring and installation you already have. Where a path also needs a thermostatic water valve, we say so before anything is booked.
Not all engines qualify, check first
Fill in the form below with your EMM part number before shipping anything. We verify your block supports the upgrade and only proceed if it does.

Frequently asked questions
Is EMM tuning legal?
The reflash sets your EMM to a higher power rating that the exact same engine block already runs from the factory in the higher-HP model. It is a software change to your own engine and we remove no emissions hardware. Rules on modifying a registered engine differ by country, so check what applies where you use the boat.
Will it void my warranty?
Most E-TEC engines are already out of the manufacturer warranty — Evinrude/BRP ended production in 2020. If yours is still covered, any software change can affect that coverage, so weigh it up first. Everything we flash is done to the correct factory specification for the higher model.
Is it safe for the engine?
Yes. We only reflash to a rating the identical block already runs in the higher-HP variant, so the hardware is built for it. Where the higher model needs a different part — such as the thermostatic water valve on some 60 HP conversions — we tell you up front and supply the correct part.
What if my engine does not qualify?
Then we tell you before you commit to anything — no reflash and no charge. Not every part number sits on a shared block, which is exactly why we check yours first.
How long does it take?
A remote session is a single appointment, usually under an hour. A mailed-in EMM is typically reflashed and back in the post within about three days of arriving.
Do I have to ship my EMM?
No. With the remote option your EMM never leaves the boat — you connect a diagnostic and bootstrap cable to a Windows laptop at the dock and we reflash it live. Prefer to post it? The mail-in service works worldwide by DHL Express.

Why Dr Evinrude sends his EMMs to us
Johan de Konink, known as Dr Evinrude, is an independent Evinrude specialist. From his own workshop he helps Ficht and E-TEC owners all over the world with the mechanical side of their engines. When a job comes down to the EMM or the electronics, he works with us. In his own words:
Our collaboration is unique: I focus on the mechanical side, while they specialize in the electronic brain. We are in constant communication to get people back on the water as quickly as possible. I test EMM modules on real engines under full load out on the water and report my findings back to them. In return, I supply mechanical parts for their highly advanced test rigs.
